With over 35 years of combined experience in designing and transforming spaces - from interior design and styling to remodeling and reinventing - we are a full-service residential and commercial design firm based in Virginia Beach, VA. 

We take a curated approach to every project we design and specialize in transforming both homes and work spaces into chic, comfortable retreats where our clients can experience growth and peace. Our team works with intention, crafting layered interiors designed to grow with our clients - producing well-considered spaces brought to life with thoughtfulness and purpose. Integrity and connection is at the heart of every project we take on. 

KB Design is both my mission and my passion. I studied design at the New York Institute of Art and Design, but never thought I’d be able to turn what I loved into a career. But after years of working in the corporate world of real estate development as a single mama to a special needs child, I was deeply burnt out and praying for a change. That’s when KB Design was born, and since then every day has become a day of meaning and love as opposed to clock-punching and paying bills. My team is so special, and they are the glue that holds this operation together. My clients have become the truest blessings and dear friends. At the end of the day, this has nothing to do with making things pretty. It is reaching deep into family stories and creating a canvas that only speaks for them. Jess joined KB Design as an accountant and quickly became an integral part
of the team, showcasing her passion for the industry and meticulous
attention to detail. Now serving as the Director of Operations, she brings
unmatched energy and dedication to every project, ensuring smooth and
efficient operations while expertly managing the moving parts that support
the creation of stunning design spaces!



With a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from the CIDA-accredited Design Institute of San Diego, Carmen brings a refined blend of technical expertise and personal client focus to every project. Her background in a design-build environment provided rigorous, hands-on training in construction documentation—particularly for kitchen and bath design—while her fifteen-year career in fashion retail, styling, and management with Nordstrom shaped her deep understanding of client perspective, taste, and lifestyle.

Carmen believes your home should be your truest reflection; her passion lies in creating spaces that feel authentically you—personalized retreats centered around the people and moments that matter most. With an eye for style and a thoughtful, layered approach, she ensures every finished space is not only beautiful, but an elevated expression of your unique story.
